Jim Collet

Jim Collet serves as an Operating Advisor to LongWater’s Private Equity team, bringing over 30 years of operational, leadership, and M&A experience across manufacturing, specialty distribution, and industrial services businesses.

Jim currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Sheridan Industries, Inc., a private equity firm focused on direct investments in profitable and sustainable businesses.

Prior to Sheridan, he was Managing Director and Co-Chief Investment Officer at HFI, the family office for the Kenneth A. Hersh family. Throughout his career, Jim has served as CEO for multiple manufacturing and industrial service companies across a variety of industries including energy services, metal fabrication, plastic injection molding, store fixtures, and oilfield supplies. From 1998 to 2001, he was Division President at Leggett & Platt (NYSE: LEG) overseeing a significant consolidation in the store fixture and display sectors.

Earlier in his career, he held senior investment banking roles at Samco Capital Markets and Ernst & Young LLP.

Jim is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization, having served on its International Board from 2007 to 2010. He holds B.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Southern Methodist University.
