Brooks Burgum
Brooks Burgum co-founded LongWater in 2009 alongside Jordan Bastable, and together they have built the firm into a premier lower middle market private markets investor with offices in Fargo, Dallas, and St. Louis. At LongWater, Brooks leads capital formation, governance, strategic direction, and performance enhancement across the firm’s growing suite of investment strategies.
Prior to founding LongWater, Brooks served as CEO of The Arthur Companies, a family-owned enterprise, where he launched a specialty commodities trading division and implemented significant operational improvements.
Earlier in his career, he began in finance at the Minneapolis Grain Exchange before expanding into the family agriculture business.
Brooks holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Dakota and an MBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University. He serves on the Board of Directors for Bell Bank and the Burgum Foundation and lives in Fargo with his wife and three children.
